Interests: For sure I want God to be my highest persuit. I'm excited to be home right now and I want to grow and learn all I can while I'm here. I'm taking a Philosophy class so I can learn how to better defend the gospel here, and especially when I return to Austin next semester... I also just started a Greek class at my church that I'm way excited about... And of course I have to mention my obession with all things from Latin America, that is to the degree that it even annoys me. :o)
Expertise: Clearance shopping at JC Penney. What can I say? A gift is a gift.... Um, I also have my "Conversational Spanish" that I miss using if there's anyone out there who wants to talk! Oh, and by far most impressive... I think I've almost got that Greek alphabet song down! "Alpha Beta Gamma...." ah, phoey! yeah, yeah, so it's a work in progress... ;o)

Local Transportation...

Becak - (pronounced Bay-check)
It's kinda like a big bicycle that carries people.
And that's my friend Citra with me.
Cool, huh?  Or here we'd say "keren!"

Good morning to the other side of the world.

Today was our first day off in a month.  It was awesome.  I woke up at around 6am and went across town with Citra to her church.  Citra is our one national participant.  She is amazing.  She was one of my "home-stay sisters" from the past week (along with Sarah and Naphtili).  This morning all four of us reunited and piled into a taxi to make it just in time for service.  Her church is small like mine and her youth group seemed so close.  We stayed afterwards and ate noodles from a street car vendor (I got sick for the first time this trip - still totally worth it) and talked with all of her friends.  They prayed for us and then took us home - singing all the way.  The rest of the day I spent journaling, reading in my Bible, and just spending some much needed quality time with the Lord.  It's now just after 6pm and the call to prayer has finally stopped.  Which means it's about 5am your guys' time and your day is just beginning. I hope you all have a great Sunday.  I miss you all!

Cassie - I'll be home on August 1st - early in the morning.  Are you going to the church retreat?  I have email until Thursday so I want a real email from you!  ;o)
